Kelsey Sullivan

Secretary

Kelsey Sullivan (she/her) is a mom, a teacher, a writer, an LGBTQIA+ youth advocate, and a life-long learner. As a mama of two neurodivergent and gender expansive kids, she spends much of her time holding safe and loving space for her two children who don’t fit into most of the systems that exist in our country for children today.

As a family, this often involves running around outside, building and tinkering, making room for tears, reading books, laughing, and savoring the very rare quiet moments together. Kelsey has taught middle and high school humanities for almost twenty years. She loves bringing anti-racist and lgbtqia+ inclusive literature into her classroom. Even though she currently teaches 8th graders, she uses children’s books with her students as glimpses into different experiences of the world.

She likes challenging traditions and systems that don’t clearly benefit everyone in the community. She loves being outside and she loves to sing. In a rare moment alone, she can be found running up or downhill while listening to podcasts that bring hope and healing to the world.
