Q. How do I donate book bundles?
A. You can donate by filling out a donation form. After you submit this form, you will be prompted to pay through PayPal, but you do NOT need a PayPal account - a credit or debit card will be a choice here as well. You can also choose to pay by Venmo @prideandlessprejudice.
Q. How do my donated bundles get to a classroom?
A. Once you have donated, we will match your bundles to classrooms in need and ship them to requesting teachers. Can I donate any amount of money or do I have to only choose from the book bundle options?
Q. Can I donate any amount of money, or do I have choose from the book bundle options only?
A. Yes, you can donate any amount of money and inform us of the amount on the donation form. You can also donate a single bundle, or any combination of bundles. Any donations are welcome and so appreciated.
Q. Can teachers request books if they teach 4th grade or higher?
A. No. At this time, we are focusing on donating books to PreK - 3rd grade classrooms only. We hope to expand to 4th and 5th grade classrooms in the future, so please continue to check back. However, anyone can attend our free professional development workshops, and utilize our free resource guides and author read alouds.
Q. What are the options for payments?
A. You can pay by PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account you can choose to pay by credit card or debit card through PayPal as well. You do not need a PayPal account for this to work. Paying by Venmo is also an option @prideandlessprejudice.
Q. Can teachers request specific books that they would like to receive?
A. Yes, teachers can request a certain title that they wish to have in their classroom library. We don’t want to send you titles you already own, and we aim to select books that suit your needs or particular demographics. However, your request must be off of the current featured book list. We are currently sending books from our 2023-24 list.
Q. Can I donate books in honor of, or in memory of someone?
A. Yes, there is an option to donate in honor of, or in memory of someone by filling out the form on the donation page. If applicable, we will send an email or a letter to notify the recipient.
Q. How long does it take for teachers to receive their book bundles for their classrooms?
A. It is difficult to estimate how long this process will take, as we have an extensive waiting list. Please be assured that we have received your request, and your books will be shipped as soon as possible—it could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months before they arrive. Please do not request books again. Thanks for your patience and support.
Q. Can you request book bundles more than once?
A. We can only send a book bundle to each requesting teacher once. Repeat requests will not be filled.
Q. What countries do you send book bundles to?
A. We only ship books to the U.S. as of January 2023.
Q. Can I attend the workshops if I am not a PreK - 3rd grade teacher?
A. Yes, we welcome all educators to attend our workshops and learn along with us.
Q. Can I attend the educator workshops if I live outside the U.S. ?
A. Yes, absolutely! We have had workshop attendees from all over the world!
Q. Why do you ship to teachers’ home addresses instead of schools?
A. We began shipping books directly to teachers’ home addresses during the Covid pandemic and have found that this remains the most secure and successful way to ensure books arrive directly to the intended recipient.
