The Banned Together Auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Join us in raising $20,000 to send 1,600 LGBTQ-inclusive books to preschool through third grade classrooms all across the country. With your support, we can help teachers build more inclusive classrooms and help children feel more seen and valued at school. We believe we can create change one book at a time!

Right now, as book bans are continuing to gain traction across the country, the LGBTQ+ community faces growing threats and DEI programs in schools are under attack. One way you can fight this is by helping PLP accomplish our mission: to support LGBTQ+ inclusivity through children's literature. Representation matters and is critically important for building a child’s sense of self. Research shows that LGBTQ+ young people are more than four times as likely to attempt suicide than their peers (Johns et al., 2019; Johns et al., 2020). All children deserve to see themselves and their families and to be seen by others. Stories reflect who we are and offer a window to the experiences of those around us. If young children can be taught to hate and fear, they can also learn to welcome and include.

PLP is committed to our mission and goal of changing culture and increasing representation.
